実家が市川市なので、私はずっと江戸川区の近くに住んでいたのですが、、。最近まで、江戸川区に無料の動物園があるなんて知らなかったですよ～～～！！（⇒ママの絶叫）いつか機会があったら行きたい、と思っていた矢先、大学時代の友人から「西葛西の動物園行かない？」とナイスなお誘いがありました。子連れには良さそうだし、久々に話したいしイイね♡

I lived near Edogawa Ward all the time because my parents’ house is in Ichikawa City. Until recently, I didn’t know that there was a free zoo in Edogawa Ward ~~~! !! Just as I was thinking that I would like to go if I had a chance someday, my friend from college asked me, “Why don’t you go to the zoo in Nishikasai?” It’s good for families with children, and I want to talk after a long time ♡

そんな訳で、本日の「東京の小学生とおでかけ！」のテーマは江戸川区・西葛西の「江戸川区自然動物園」です。

What is the nearest station to Edogawa Natural Zoo?

江戸川区自然動物園は「行船公園」（ぎょうせんこうえん）と言う公園の中にあります。
Edogawa Natural Zoo is located in a park called “Gyosen Park”.

江戸川区自然動物園の最寄り駅は２つあり、１つ目は東京メトロ東西線に「西葛西駅」で徒歩15分です。２つ目は都営地下鉄新宿線「船堀駅」で徒歩20分です。どちらも駅チカではないので、3~4歳くらいのこどもさんはベビーカーや「抱っこ抱っこおおお！」という抱っこ攻撃の心づもりの準備をしておくとママパパは安心です。

There are two nearest stations to Edogawa Natural Zoo, the first is Nishikasai Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, which is a 15-minute walk. The second is a 20-minute walk from Funabori Station on the Toei Subway Shinjuku Line. ちなみに私たち。大人女性３人が全員はじめてでスマホ片手に行きましたが、途中で葛西橋通りを逆方面に進んでしまう、という失態をやらかしてしまいました。動物園に着く時点で、少々ゼエゼエ言っておりました。

西葛西小の横を歩き、そのままイオン西葛西でなぜか右折しちゃったんだよね、、！
I walked beside Nishikasai Elementary School and turned right at Aeon Nishikasai for some reason!

By the way, we. All three adult women went to one hand with a smartphone for the first time, but on the way, they made a mistake of going in the opposite direction on Kasaibashi Dori. When I arrived at the zoo, I was saying a little zeezee.

【船堀駅から行く場合】

道順的には、船堀駅から行く方がシンプルでそうですね、、！あ、いや。西葛西駅からも普通のひとならば決して迷う場所ではありません！！

フンボルトペンギン、モルモット、ブラウンケナガクモザル、オタリア、、。無料の動物園なのに、たくさんいます！！
Humboldt penguins, guinea pigs, brown-bellied spider monkeys, South American sea lions ,. Even though it’s a free zoo, there are many! !!

江戸川区自然動物園の動物って、正直あまり期待してなかったんです。だって無料だから。でも、無料なのにすっごい動物の種類いましたよ。期待以上でした。

①ブラウンケナガモクザル

Brown Kenagamokuzaru

ブラウンケナガモクザルは江戸川区自然動物園の正門から入ってすぐのお山にいらっしゃいました。おさるさんは動きが機敏で運動神経バツグン。群れならではの人間（猿）関係もかいまみれるのも、魅力です♡

Brown Kenagamokuzaru came to the mountain just after entering from the main gate of Edogawa Natural Zoo. Curious is agile and has excellent motor nerves. It is also attractive to be able to see the human (monkey) relationship unique to the herd ♡

②モルモットさん　

Guinea pig

こども動物園とかで必ずいるのが、このモルモット。つぶらな瞳としぶさとモフモフした手触りという、まさに動物の愛くるしさを一身に受け止めた生命体です。（⇒大げさ？）おさわりコーナーなどは特にありませんでした。ていうか、コロナだしね、、。

This guinea pig is always present at children’s zoos. It is a life form that truly accepts the loveliness of animals, with its round eyes, fluffy texture, and fluffy texture. (⇒ Exaggerated?) There was no particular touching corner. I mean, it’s Corona …

③やぎさん　

Goat

正門を入ってすぐ右側に「ふれあいコーナー」（今はふれあえないけど、、！）という丸い柵で囲われた場所があります。そこに、やぎさん・羊さん・にわとりさん・うさぎさん（見逃したけど）がいます。違う種類だけど、同じ場所で仲良くできるってすごい、、！人間も見習わねば。

この二人が、私と友人のこどもだなんて。今更だけど、信じられないね、、！

Immediately after entering the main gate, there is a place surrounded by a round fence called “Fureai Corner” (I can’t touch it now, but!). There are goats, sheep, chickens, and rabbits (though I missed them). It’s a different kind, but it’s amazing that you can get along with each other in the same place! Humans also have to emulate.

なでなでが上手な女性がいて、やぎさんは至福の顔をしていました。かわいいな～。
There was a woman who was good at stroking, and Mr. Goat had a blissful face. It’s cute!

④フンボルトペンギン

Humboldt penguins

フンボルトペンギンさんはチリとペルーの間の暖流から流れてくる暖かいところに住むペンギンさんです。そのため、日本の動物園でも育てやすいので動物園によくいるペンギンだそうです。ここ３０年でペンギンの数は約50％以上も減っているそう。動物の種類が減っていくのはなんとかして止めたいですね。

え～ん。子供でペンギンが見えない。でも、子供が見ることが大事だな。

Humboldt penguins are penguins who live in warm places flowing from the warm current between Chile and Peru. Therefore, it is easy to grow in Japanese zoos, so it is said that it is a penguins that is often found in zoos. The number of penguins has decreased by more than 50% in the last 30 years. I want to somehow stop the number of animal species from decreasing.

⑤ジェフロイクモザル

Black-handed spider monkey

ジェフロイクモザルはメキシコやコロンビアなどの中央アメリカに生息しているサルだそうです。この動物園の奥の方にいらっしゃいます。可愛くてついつい長時間見入ってしまうお猿さんです。

Black-handed spider monkeys are said to be monkeys that live in Central America such as Mexico and Colombia. You are in the back of this zoo. It’s a cute monkey that you can’t wait to see for a long time.

⑥レッサーパンダ

千葉の動物園のレッサーパンダ・風太君はどうしてるかな～！
What’s wrong with Futa, the lesser panda at the zoo in Chiba!

江戸川区自然動物園のスゴイところは、入場料無料なのにレッサーパンダが見られるという点です！まだお金の使い方がわからない子供たち（小学校低学年とか）でも、近所に住んでいればいつでもレッサーパンダを見られるという。レッサーパンダが日常の中にあるという。それが素晴らしいな～と思いました。西葛西の子どもたちは幸せだね！！

The great thing about Edogawa Natural Zoo is that you can see red pandas even though there is no admission fee! Even children who don’t know how to spend money (such as the lower grades of elementary school) can always see red pandas if they live in the neighborhood. It is said that red pandas are in everyday life. I thought it was wonderful. The children of Nishikasai are happy! !!

この他にも、オタリアや草ガメやオオアリクイや蛇やプレーリードッグがいました。残念ながらインコさんは亡くなっていました。他の動物園と違い、江戸川区自然動物園は敷地がコンパクトなので歩いていても全然疲れませんでした。こどもが走ってしまっても、すぐに見つけられるのもいいな～と思いました。

There were also South American sea lions, grass turtles, giant anteaters, snakes and prairie dogs. Unfortunately, Inko was dead. Unlike other zoos, the Edogawa Natural Zoo has a compact site, so I didn’t get tired at all when walking. Even if a child runs, I thought it would be nice to be able to find it immediately.

行船公園＝江戸川区自然公園＋平成庭園です。
Gyosen Park = Edogawa Natural Park + Heisei Garden.

江戸川区自然動物園の入場料は無料です。（江戸川区民でなくても）動物園の前には大きな滑り台がある公園があるので、子どもは一日遊べます。そして、動物園の正門向かって左側には「平成庭園」というザリガニも釣れる広大な日本庭園があります。ここも無料です。わたしたちが行ったのは平日の水曜日の１３時頃でしたが、子連れの方がたくさんいらっしゃってました。私も近くならしょっちゅう来ると思います。

入口入ってしばらくするとトイレとアイスの自販機。そして、この噴水があります！
After a while after entering the entrance, a vending machine for toilets and ice cream. And there is this fountain!

Admission to the Edogawa Natural Zoo is free. There is a park with a large slide in front of the zoo (even if you are not a resident of Edogawa), so children can play all day long. And on the left side of the main gate of the zoo, there is a vast Japanese garden called “Heisei Garden” where you can catch crayfish. This is also free. We went there around 13:00 on weekday Wednesdays, but there were many people with children. I think I will come often if I am nearby.

How about a lunch with children near Edogawa Natural Park?

昼は（ハッピーセットのドラエもんが欲しかったから）マックで食べました。
I ate at McDonald’s at noon (because I wanted Doraemon from Happy Meal).

江戸川区自然動物園の園内には食べるスペースや飲食店はありません。（そんなに大きな動物園じゃないし）江戸川区自然動物園からすぐ近くにイオンがありますが、その中にバーガーキングが入っていたので、友人はそこでテイクアウトをしました。私たちは行船公園内のベンチで水筒やおやつを広げて休憩しました。ちょうどお花見の時期だったので、桜がキレイでした。来年も来れるといいな～。（シミジミ）

桜って、気が付くとすぐ散っちゃう。
The cherry blossoms are scattered as soon as you notice them.

There is no space to eat or restaurants in the Edogawa Natural Zoo. (It’s not such a big zoo) There is Aeon near the Edogawa Natural Zoo, but Burger King was in it, so my friend took out there. We took a break by spreading water bottles and snacks on the bench in Gyosen Park. It was the cherry blossom season, so the cherry blossoms were beautiful. I hope I can come again next year. (Stain)
