Although it is far from the station, it is a fashionable public museum near East 21 and Kiba Park.

昔、私は子供のころ江東区の東陽町に５年間住んでいました。なので、江東区には何となく親しみを持っています。この美術館は上野にある美術館とは少し違い、現代的なアート、特にインスタレーションや企画ものが面白い美術館です。

私はファッション系の専門学校も出たため、アート系のイベントや展覧会にとても興味がありました。このMOTの年間パスポートも持っていました。駅からは少し遠いのですが、大人一人ならまあ歩ける距離です。施設は大きくてきれいで現代的で、カフェも居心地よく、美術関連の書籍も多い。とても居心地のよい空間で、子供がいなかったら一日ここでゆったり過ごしたいほどです。

When I was a child, I used to live in Toyo-cho, Koto-ku for 5 years. So I have some familiarity with Koto Ward. This museum is a little different from the one in Ueno, where modern art, especially installations and projects, is interesting.

I was very interested in art-related events and exhibitions because I also had a fashion vocational school. I also had an annual passport for this MOT. It’s a little far from the station, but it’s a walking distance for one adult. The facility is large, clean and modern, the cafe is cozy and there are many art books. It’s a very cozy space and I would love to spend a day here without children.

東京都現代美術館のカフェはステキです。白で統一されたインテリア、静かで落ち着きのある空間、自然光を取り入れた照明。そして、アートグッズも充実していて、ついつい本気で品定めしてしまいます。

The cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo is wonderful. White interior, quiet and calm space, and natural lighting. Also, there are a lot of art goods, so I decided to make a serious decision.

普通の生活で普通の固定概念がまとわりついていると、たまに息苦しくなってしまいます。MOTの展示会では、そんな固定概念を壊してくれる面白いワークショップや展示が盛りだくさん。

例えば、まだ覚えているのは小屋があって、その小屋の中で「心を無にして、あなたの思い浮かべる人へ手紙を書きましょう」というメッセージがあり、紙、ペン、切手が置いてあるという展示だったんですよね。慌ただしい日常だと、そんなことをなかなかできないから、アートって素敵。アートって堅苦しい心を柔らかくしてくれるものなんでは、と私は思います。

If you stick to the common stereotypes in your normal life, you will sometimes get stuffy. At the MOT exhibition, there are many interesting workshops and exhibitions that can break such fixed concepts.

For example, I still remember that there was a hut, and in that hut, “Let’s lose heart and write a letter to someone you think of.” It was an exhibition with paper, pen and stamps. Art is wonderful because it’s hard to do that in a busy day. I think that art can soften a tough heart.

MOTには普通の展示っぽい展示はあんまりないよ！

アート好きですが、本当のアートファンに比べたらわたしなんて全然詳しくありません。しかし、何度も展示を見ていて気になったアーティストはチェックしています。その一人がヤノベケンジさん。スペーシーでかっこいい作品を作る、かっこいいアーティスト！ってイメージがあります。
