何のキーワードで検索していた時だったのか忘れてしまいましたが、東京・大塚にある「おにぎり　ぼんご」(https://www.onigiribongo.info/)というおにぎり専門店を偶然知りました。昔懐かしい、親しみあるWebサイトだったので、つい熟読⇒「行くぜい！」と子供を連れて行ってきましたが、混雑により結局行けませんでした。。

おにぎり　ぼんごとは？

おにぎり　ぼんごは、おにぎり専門店です。現在、大塚店と板橋店の２店舗があります。創業５５年の老舗で、口に入れるとホロリと崩れるおにぎりは大人気。テレビや雑誌でも頻繁に取り上げられ、おにぎりぼんごのの本まで出版されています。私は全然知らなかったです。

Onigiri Bongo is a rice ball specialty store. Currently, there are two stores, the Otsuka store and the Itabashi store. A long-established restaurant that has been in business for 55 years, rice balls that crumble when you put them in your mouth are very popular. It is frequently featured on TV and in magazines, and even books on rice balls are published. I didn’t know at all.

なめてかかったが、「おにぎりぼんご」はやはり混雑してる

私が最初におにぎり　ぼんごに行ったのは、2021年３月の水曜日です。（平日だし、30分くらい並べば入れるでしょ）と思っていたのですが、30分たっても一向に入れる気配はなく。テイクアウトをしようと店内に入りかけた男性が、「テイクアウトだとどれぐらいかかりますか？」と質問していたのを聞いたのですが、「あと45分くらいですね」と言われていました。

I thought (it’s a weekday, so if you line up for about 30 minutes, you can put it in), but even after 30 minutes, there is no sign that you can put it in at all. How long does it take for a man to enter the store to take out? I heard that he was asking, “It’s about 45 minutes left.”

（え？嘘。30分待って、今から45分なの？ないないない！）と焦り、こどもに「ごめん、おにぎり混んでるワ。やっぱ、ロイヤルホストにしよう」と、仕方なく大塚のロイヤルホストに行ったのです。並んでいて思ったのは、全然列が前に進まないんだなという事です。座席数がカウンター12席しかないという事なんで、仕方ないですけどね。子供はおにぎりが大好きなんで、割と近い場所だし、食べさせてあげたかったんですけどね。

There are only 12 seats at the counter, so it can’t be helped.　Children love rice balls, so it’s a relatively close place and I wanted to feed them.

さて、その後。私は別件で星野リゾートのホテルが大塚にあるというネット記事を見て、泊まりたくなりました。そして、密かに（もしかして、OMO５大塚のホテルに泊まったら、おにぎりぼんごに近いから、おにぎり食べられるよね？）と思ってワクワクしていました。しかし、その考えは甘かったのです。

Well, then. I wanted to stay after seeing another online article that the hotel of Hoshino Resorts is in Otsuka. And I was excited to think secretly (maybe if I stayed at a hotel in OMO5 Otsuka, I could eat rice balls because it’s close to rice balls, right?). But the idea was sweet.

おにぎり　ぼんごの開店時間は、午前１１時３０分です。私たちがホテルをチェックアウトしたのは１１時です。（あと30分あるなあ）と思ったので、おにぎりぼんごの目の前にある古着やさん「たんぽぽ」で服を買っていました。しかし、服を買って外に出ると、もお前回と同じくらいの列が出来上がっていました。（緊急事態宣言中だけど、やっぱ、ぼんごは人気なんだ、、！！）と、おにぎりぼんご人気のすさまじさを知りました。

Onigiri Bongo is open at 11:30 am. We checked out the hotel at 11:00. I thought (I have 30 minutes left), so I bought clothes at the second-hand clothes shop “Tanpopo” in front of the rice ball bongo. However, when I bought clothes and went outside, there was a line similar to the last time. (Although the state of emergency is being declared, bongo is still popular … !!), I learned how popular Onigiri Bongo is.

雨が降ってきました。お昼にぼんごを食べ損ねた私たちは、OMO５大塚の地下にあるピンポンバーping-pong ba（https://ppba.ba-o.jp/）」にちらっと寄ってみました。ここの店主が非常に良い方で、うちの娘に非常に優しくしてくださりました。娘も非常にリラックスして、

大人の遊び場所であるピンポンバーを堪能しました。帰り際、ピンピンバーのマスターに「今日、本当はおにぎりぼんごでおにぎり食べたかったんですけど、雨だし並んでるんで、ここに来たんすよ」とつぶやくと、「ええ？！おにぎりぼんごなら、うちに言ってくれたら電話して取りにいってあげましたけど。毎日まかないで食べてますし、お店の方とも知り合いなので」とおっしゃってました。、、、が～ん！！ホテルなんか泊まらないで、ピンポンバーに先に来ればよかったです。。

私の中では、おにぎりぼんごは絶対に食べられないバリアがある店というイメージがあります。でも、店主によるとぼんごは電話予約をすればそんなに待たないそうです。（電話：03-3910-5617/11:30～24:00）でも、私は水曜日の夜23時くらいに電話したんですよね。でも、誰も出なかったです。電話予約の時間は決まっているのでしょうか。。まあ、そんな夜中に電話する私が悪いんですけど、、！（だって、忘れてたんです）
